About

For the second of our autumn season of lunchtime concerts in St John's we're delighted to welcome back "Dolce Flutes", a quartet which has already given two delightful and well-received concerts here.

As ever St John’s will be open for an hour before the concert begins, with volunteers from the pop-up café team offering lots of home made sweet and savoury treats as well as hot and cold drinks. All profits from the café go towards funding our programme of events.

The concert will begin promptly at 1pm. Admission is free, but those who are able to afford it are asked to make a donation. The suggested amount is £5.

Programme:

Mike Mower - Easter Island
Damase - Quatuor for 4 flutes
Elgar - Salut d'amour
Bozza - Jour d'été à la montagne
Irish Trad. - May Morning Dew
Mendelssohn - Scherzo from A Midsummer Night's Dream

About Dolce Flutes:

Dolce Flutes formed in 2015 when they collectively began studying for their undergraduate degrees at the Royal Northern College of Music. They have since performed across the UK, including giving recitals at Buxton Opera House and for the Cherubim Music Trust. In the past few years they have individually obtained Masters degrees from the Royal Academy of Music, Royal College of Music and Royal Northern College of Music. During the pandemic, they created several remote recordings of their own arrangements and visual interpretations of film music and traditional tunes which can be found on their YouTube channel.
