Sacrewell’s Outdoor Spaces Open for Exercise and Recreation During Lockdown

Like many other attractions, we will be closing our shops, indoor play centre and rare breed animal areas until December. As a charity, we are of course incredibly disappointed, but understand why this is essential to help save lives, protect the NHS and reduce the spread of Covid-19.

We know how tough the second lockdown will be for people’s mental health and well-being and, in line with the Government’s guidance, people are encouraged to get exercise and recreation with members of their own household.

Sacrewell spans over 55 acres of countryside and public open space. Some areas are permitted to remain open and continue to be used by individuals or households for outdoor exercise and recreation during the lockdown.

Helping people to enjoy the countryside is part of our charitable objectives, so while we do not expect to cover our costs by doing this, we feel that we need to play our part by opening our outdoor spaces as much as permitted to support people with their exercise during this challenging time.

Therefore, after seeking advice, from Saturday 7th November we will open these permitted outdoor spaces at Sacrewell during the lockdown period. All other areas of Sacrewell will, however, need to be closed and restrictions will be in place.

There will be no admission fee. However, we will be significantly limiting the numbers of people to make sure households are not mixing and strict social distancing can be maintained.

There will, however, be a charge to use our car park of £10 per vehicle to help us cover some of our ongoing maintenance costs. A portion of the car park will also be reserved each day for annual pass holders who can use the car park free of charge.

To help us control numbers, all car parking, including annual pass holders, will need to be pre-booked online and reserved prior to your visit. People will be able to attend during the following session times each day:

· 9.00am – 11.00am

· 11.30am – 1.30pm

· 2.00pm – 4.00pm

To control numbers, we sadly will not be able to allow walk-ins or people arriving without a pre-booked parking reservation.

In line with the guidelines, limited takeaway food and drink will also be available from Origin8 Café.

This will be in place until 2nd December when we hope to be able reopen the whole of Sacrewell for visitors again.

Guidelines

On entrance to Sacrewell Farm we would very much appreciate if visitors would adhere to the following Lockdown guidelines in supporting us to give you a great visitor experience.

· Do not enter the park if you are experiencing Covid-19 symptoms

· Adhere to our new parking layout, please follow signs

· Always follow Social Distancing guidelines

· Hands, Face, Space - Regular hand washing (handwash facilities are located around the farm site)

· Interaction and feeding of the animals is prohibited following government guidelines

· Please follow one-way system where applicable

· Parents and Guardians are responsible for their children at all times

· Only walk within your household or bubble.

· Parking fee is non refundable

· Anyone found not adhering to social distancing guidelines will be asked to leave with no refund given.

· Anyone that books an annual pass car parking ticket, all occupants must be annual pass holders. You must bring proof of your annual pass which will be checked on entry, failure to provide your annual pass will result in refused entry.

· To be fair and considerate to all annual pass holders, no block booking of tickets is permitted.
