JAZZ IN THE STUDIO: JEANIE BARTON

About

A special Christmas treat for Jazz fans as Jeanie Barton returns for the next in our online Jazz series.

Jeanie was last at Stamford Arts Centre in December 2019, performing for our Christmas special event. We're delighted to invite her to put together a remote video concert live from the studio, where she'll be joined by renowned Midlands based pianist Stephen Sherriff as they explore some of their favourite festive repertoire as a vocal and piano duo.

Having studied jazz harmony at Morley College in London and improvisation with BBC Jazz award winner Anita Wardell, Jeanie cut her teeth as singer & compere for bebop pioneer Laurie Morgan and his trio, fronting their famous North London weekly gig, Downstairs at The King’s Head in Crouch End for over a decade.  Stephen regularly performs solo as well as in ensembles ranging from jazz trios through to 18-piece fusion acts, across the whole of the UK and in Europe.

If you would like to support the work that we are doing to provide arts at home, while theatres across the country are closed, you can donate here.
