Gabriella Pineda-Rodrigues

About

Renowned mezzo-soprano and former Cathedral chorister Gabriella Pineda-Rodrigues will celebrate the Cathedral's 'One Small Step' exhibition in song.

"This is my spiritual home. I am passionate about the Cathedral and to sing here again to help promote such a wonderful event is such a pleasure for me - and I hope for those who come along to what I think will be a very special evening", says Gabriella.

Within the stunning Cathedral nave, which naturally provides a socially-distanced setting, Gabriella will perform a wide-ranging repertoire of music including classics such as Claude Debussy's Claire de LuneMoon River from the film Breakfast at Tiffany's - and ever-popular songs such as Fly Me To The Moon.

Gabriella will be accompanied on the piano by Dr Kate Wishart, who will also play a solo piece.

One of the features of Gabriella's concerts is usually that the audience can enjoy singing along to some of their favourite numbers. It is hoped this may be possible - but only if Covid restrictions permit - by the time of the concert.

During the concert's interval, there will be ample opportunity for ticket-holders to view 'One Small Step', created by the artist Peter Walker, which will be arranged across the building, underneath the imposing central tower.
