At this time of year Jane Schofield would normally be running her lovely Christmas craft workshops in the Stamford area and at the Country Living Christmas fairs in London and Harrogate. But this year, as we all know, is different so we are going online…
Jane especially loves making seasonal decorations with a contemporary twist. It also feels good to be creative, green and thrifty - all at the same time - so creating gorgeous designs with old bits of fabric and wool that might be heading for the bin is the theme of this latest collaboration with us at the Stamford and Guildhall Arts Centres.
Felted Wool Christmas Tree Decorations - Wednesday 9 December 7pm
So cute. So colourful. So on-trend. Using upcycled felted wool (or felt left over from other makes) these gorgeous tree decorations (about 15cm high) only require basic sewing skills (running stitch). For those of you who would like to sew on a few buttons for decoration, we will do that first, then sew the triangles together inserting a little stuffing for depth and a colourful piece of ribbon for impact.
You will need some card (to make a template), felt, buttons, ribbon, stuffing, pins, needle, thread, pencil and scissors. You may well have these things to hand but should you want to purchase a kit (£2; excludes scissors) please email Jane (jane@janeschofield.co.uk) to arrange for payment and collection at the Arts Centre on 4th December.
Tickets: £3.50
