This year Nene Valley Railway is hosting its eighth classic car event. Once again Wansford Station will be home to a stunning collection of over 100 classic cars, motorcycles and even commercial vehicles congregate at our Wansford station. , each guaranteed to 'transport' you back in time through the decades. Visitors will be treated to a special classic car display, whilst our locomotives steam away in the background.
If 2 and 4-wheel nostalgia is your thing, this is the event for you, over 100 classic cars, motorcycles and even commercial vehicles congregate at our Wansford station.
From the truly vintage through to modern and emerging classics there is always something for everybody. We think that if you like classic vehicles you may also enjoy watching our travelling post office equipment in action
As a result, this year we have combined the classic vehicles with the running of our travelling post office carriages. Spectators can ride in the Post office carriages then watch live mail transfers with the apparatus hefting huge leather satchels on and off the moving train.
Have lunch in the Station Café, or bring your own picnic to enjoy at Wansford’s riverside picnic area, or travel on the train to Ferry Meadows Country Park and enjoy your picnic there. Whilst at Overton Station (Ferry Meadows), why not visit the Night Mail Project? Or travel into the City for a look around the shops and the Cathedral.
