About

Experience Burghley in a whole new light and enjoy enchanting musical performances. Burghley by Twilight offers the rare opportunity for an evening visit to Burghley House. As the sun begins to set, the State Rooms take on a magical glow and ambience only twilight can provide. Carefully positioned soft-lighting and candlelight allow you to experience Burghley interiors in all their beauty as the magnificent frescos and works of art come alive.

As you explore the illuminated rooms enjoy performances from a variety of classical musicians. Elizabethan minstrel, Dante Ferrara, adds music and merriment with his Lute and Hurdy Gurdy, whilst harpist to the stars Soraya Vermeulen will fill the Great Hall with her beautiful and entrancing music. The incredible acoustics of the Old Kitchen come into their own with a classical recorder performance and violinists and choirs continue the musical entertainment through the house with their evocative repertoires.

Prosecco will be served in the Old Kitchen and the Great Hall adding further sparkle to the night.

This exclusive after-hours experience is not to be missed and will transport you back to bygone days when great houses like Burghley would have seen many evenings entertaining guests with dinner parties and lavish balls.
