Details

Peterborough Local History Society for people with an interest in where they live, work and spend their leisure time.

The Peterborough Local History Society was formed in 1991 to provide anyone interested in local history with an opportunity to hear from others their own specialist subjects, and to encourage an inter-change of ideas and opinions on all matters relating to local history.

The Society is not intended to be a formal or learned institution, as that would tend to preclude the interest of a large proportion of the public. Its aim is to be friendly, and at the same time to provide a platform for anyone who wishes to tell others of their research and an opportunity to develop interests in new areas of research.
