About

Barnsdale is a hidden treasure - an internationally known, award winning collection of individually designed gardens, set in beautiful countryside just off the A1. Originally created by Geoff Hamilton for TV's Gardener's World, its landscaped walkways link 39 themed garden 'rooms', ranging from romantic, cottage style plantings to more modern designs, a Japanese garden, woodlands teeming with wildlife and the famous productive areas which contribute to the Barnsdale Tea Room. Go for gardening inspiration or simply somewhere lovely to relax while the kids play hide-and-seek, hunt for bugs or watch the birds. Enjoy a slap up lunch or afternoon tea inside or out on the lawn. Barnsdale is proud to serve the best, fresh seasonal food from local producers. You can book a course to learn a new skill or join in the fun at a FREE weekend activity event. For a great day out, all year round, Barnsdale is positively blooming with great ideas!

Gardens to visit, tea room, gift shop and plant nursery. Courses and events throughout the year, weddings and conferences. Disabled parking and toilets, and free bookable mobility scooters. Most of the site is accessible to wheelchairs.
