Details

Following the death of Alexandrina’s father, Lord Alexander Peckover, in 1919, his valuable book collection was sold off. In the centenary of Lord Peckover’s death, we wish to tell the story of his ‘Lost Library’ and wider collecting interests. We have copies of the Sotheby’s sale catalogues and they reveal a very significant collection that is now dispersed across the world. We will have on loan several original Peckover books on display in the Library.
