River Nene Cottages

About

Our self-catering converted barn cottages in the River Nene village of Water Newton, are located between Peterborough and Stamford, just off the A1.

Originally built in 1805, and fully renovated in February 2016, each of the 2-bed cottages can accommodate 4 guests, the 1-bed cottage accommodating 2 guests. Each has a full kitchen with microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer, a brand new modern bathroom and free Wi-Fi. They have a unique 'Olde Worlde' feel about them with open fire places, exposed beams and vaulted ceilings. There is free parking for two cars per cottage on site.

There is plenty to do for the whole family: exploring the pretty market towns of Stamford, Oundle and Uppingham, visiting Thomas the Tank Engine and the Nene Valley Railway, skydiving, fishing, lovely nearby restaurants and bars and Sacrewell animal farm to name but a few attractions.

Ideally located for business, we are 5 minutes from the East of England Showground, 12 minutes from Burghley, 10 minutes from Peterborough train station and have easy access to the A1 and A47 main routes.

Our cottages are perfect for business trips, relaxing or romantic holidays, and active walking and fishing breaks. We are surrounded by open farming countryside, beautiful large open skies and boast the added beauty of the River Nene. We're the perfect antidote from the mayhem of busy cities, well placed for overnight stays on long journeys, and great for relaxing or adventure holidays, catering for the whole family.

Leisure facilities are available within nearby Peterborough and Stamford. For Spa facilities, we are linked with Alwalton Hall that is 3 mins from us. A wide variety of restaurants and pubs catering for all palates are located in nearby villages or Alwalton, Elton, Warmington, Wansford, Stamford, Oundle and Uppingham – the closest of which are 5 minutes away. Nearby restaurants offer delivery services too.
