Oh, the summer days of July!

Our Cathedral is the jewel in the city’s crown, and throughout the whole of 2018 the cathedral and city are joining together in celebration of the Cathedrals 900th anniversary.

Take a look at some of the events taking place for PETERBOROUGH CELEBRATES 900.

Peterborough has events and festivals taking place all year and July is packed with 5 pages of things to do.

The main highlights for this month is the Battle Proms Concert at Burghley House on 7th, John Clare Society Annual Festival  at John Clare Cottage & Garden is on 13th -15th, the Oundle International Festival from 4th-14th and step back in time as Queensgate Celebrates 900 at the Queensgate Shopping Centre from 31st.

Other highlights for July are Just Dogs Live  at Peterborough Arena on 6th- 8th, YMCA Youth Jam on Cathedral Square on 21st, Burghley Film Festival at Burghley House on 25th-29th and the Portugeuse Festival is on 22nd-23rd at the Peterborough Rugby Club.

For a great day out for nature lovers take a trip to Ferry Meadows Country Park for the Meadow Bug Hunt on 7th, a guided walk with a Ranger on 12th, Moments with Trees  on 25th and there is also a Summer Trail running right through the summer.

For theatre & music lovers, Peterborough has some great shows and performances at the Key and Cresset theatres and at other great venues around the city. Glyndebourne: Saul at Key Theatre on 25th, Chicago Master Singers at Peterborough Cathedral on 12th and The Peterborough Voices choirs – Sing for Life perform at The Cresset on 21st.

A little further afield is the Wisbech Rose Fair  on 4th-7th, A Celebration of Peace at Ely Cathedral on 4th, The HandleBards ‘Romeo & Juliet’  at Deene Park on 5th, the Peterborough Sausage & Cider Festival at Elton Hall on 27th-29th and the Stamford Shakespeare Outdoor Theatre run plays throughout the month into August.

The Hidden Heritage Tour is the essential guide to Peterborough’s past on the 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th and runs from the museum every Saturday afternoon through to August, plus the Priestgate Vaults tour will delight history lovers and run most days at 2.30pm.

Other highlights for July include the free daily Guided Tours of Peterborough Cathedral at 11.30am and 2pm and Tuesdays till Two at St John the Baptist Church.
