March - Spring is on its way!

Peterborough has events and festivals taking place all year and March is still full of things to do.

The main highlights for the remainder of this month are the Handel 'Dixit Dominus' & Vivaldi 'Gloria' at Peterborough Cathedral on 23rd, the Nene Valley Railway Open Day on the same weekend of 23rd & 24th, and Vivaldi Requiem at the Queen Katherine Academy on 30th. The East of England Arena is holding the Inflatable 5k Obstacle Run & Zombie Survival Run on 30th - a fun way to prove your fitness!

Music & dance lovers will enjoy Tuesdays Till Two - Spring Lunchtime Concerts at St John the Baptist Church on 19th & 26th, Magic of the Musicals with the Peterborough Male Voice Choir and others at the Cresset on 22nd and all the way from Strictly, Giovanni Pernice - Dance is Life is also at the Cresset on 29th. For a fun night, do not miss the musical of Monty Python’s Spamalot on 26th-30th at the cities Key Theatre.

Further afield, Burghley House & Gardens re-open their doors on 16th or head over to the National Trust’s Peckover House and Gardens to find out about Lord Peckover’s Lost Library, and, Nene Valley Archaeological Trust -Your Roman Past is on 30th, a conference taking place on the site of one of the largest Roman buildings in Britain - the so called Castor Praetorium.

Plan ahead! Some of the highlights coming up for April are Peterborough Ghost Walk from Peterborough Museum on 16th, Peterborough Local History Societies Illustrative Talks - Lost Buildings of Peterborough & Peculiar to Peterborough at the Cathedral on 24th and the National Garden Railway Show is on 6th at the East of England Arena.

Other highlights for March and April include the *daily Guided Tours of Peterborough Cathedral at 11.30 and 2pm. 

The Hidden Heritage Tour is the essential guide to Peterborough’s past running on the 16th, 23rd & 30th March and 6th, 13th, 20th & 27th April from the Peterborough Museum at 2pm, plus the Priestgate Vaults tour will delight history lovers and run most days at 2.30pm.
