Peterborough has events and festivals taking place all year and September still has an array of things to do.

The main highlights for the remainder of this month are WAW All Star Wrestling event at the Broadway Theatre on 22nd, the Nene Valley Festival with events at Railworld Wildlife Haven, Nene Valley Railway and other venues throughout the region, its finale taking place on 23rd September at Stanwick Lakes. Also, do not miss the only fully accessible film and TV convention in the world, ‘Feel the Force Day’ at the Kingsgate Conference Centre on 30th.

Spend the last of the summer outdoors with the family at Ferry Meadows Country Park for Badger Watch on 19th-20th, Bat Walk on 20th and Ramble from River to Rail also on 20th. More highlights for September are The Magic Flute - Live from the Royal Opera House at Key Theatre on 20th, The Everly Pregnant Brothers at The Broadway on 23rd and the Magic of Motown at The Cresset Theatre on 29th. Not forgetting Bridge Fair 2017 at the Embankment on 28th through to October and the Festival of Antiques on 29th-30th at Peterborough Arena.

What is there to look forward to in October? One of the country’s fastest growing half marathons – The Great Eastern Run is on the 8th, Black History Month is on 7th on Cathedral Square and the Diwali Festival also on the square is on 14th. Head down to the Embankment on 13th for Oktoberfest Peterborough for a huge weekend of traditional Bavarian
entertainment, food and drink.

Other highlights for September include the free daily Guided Tours of Peterborough Cathedral at 11.30am and 2pm and Tuesdays till Two at St John the Baptist Church.

The Hidden Heritage Tour is the essential guide to Peterborough’s past on the 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th and runs from the museum every Saturday afternoon through to October, plus the Priestgate Vaults tour will delight history lovers and run most days at 2.30pm.
