'Remember, Remember'.....November!

Peterborough has events and festivals taking place all year and November is packed with things to do.

The main highlights for this month kick off with the spectacular Firework Fiesta at the East of England Arena on 3rd, cheese lovers will just love Cheese Fest Peterborough also at the arena on 10th. Peterborough will be all alight on Friday 16th for the Christmas Lights Switch On  at Cathedral Square and you can enjoy a festive chorus with Peterborough’s choirs and the East Anglia Chamber Orchestra for Mozart Requiem and Haydn Little Organ Mass Concert on 10th.

Other highlights for November are Noel Fitzpatrick Supervet. Welcome to my World on 23rd and if you’re in the mood for music or theatre take your pick from the Autumn Concerts - Tuesdays Till Two at St John the Baptist Church, every Tuesday throughout the month, The Nutcracker by Vienna Festival Ballet on 18th at the Cresset Theatre and Peterborough’s Male Voice Choir are performing on 24th at Stamford Arts Centre.

Seasonal festivities have started with The Festive Food and Gift Fair at East of England Arena on 16th-18th, Christmas Fair at Ferry Meadows on 24th, G4 Christmas at Peterborough Cathedral is on 21st and BLAKE - Christmas Classics at The Cresset Theatre on 27th.

The 11th November will mark the centenary of the end of WW1 and to commemorate this day there will be a special event ‘Naming the Men’. This takes place in Cathedral Square on Friday 9th and Saturday 10th.

This year's Civic Armistice and Remembrance event takes place on Sunday 11th, starting with a military parade along Bridge Street from 10.45am, a two minute silence at 11am, followed by a service in Peterborough Cathedral from 11.45am. The Festival of Remembrance is a moving commemorative concert on 9th and A Ploughman's Tale at St John the Baptist Church is a story of everyman who fought in the trenches, through music and poetry on 9th.

Other highlights for November include the free daily Guided Tours of Peterborough Cathedral at 11.30am and 2pm.

The Hidden Heritage Tour is the essential guide to Peterborough’s past on the 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th runs from the museum every Saturday afternoon through November, plus the Priestgate Vaults tour will delight history lovers and runs most days at 2.30pm.
