February is upon us, shake off those winter chills!

Our glorious Cathedral is the jewel in the city’s crown, and throughout the whole of 2018 the cathedral and city are joining together in celebration of the 900th anniversary of this magnificent place.

Take a look at some of the events taking place for PETERBOROUGH CELEBRATES 900.

Peterborough has events and festivals taking place all year and February is packed with 3 pages of things to do.

The main highlights for this month are The Sixteen: Bach Magnificat at Peterborough Cathedral on 3rd, Mayor’s Charity’s 1940’s Music Evening the ‘Blitz Bash’ at Peterborough Town Hall on 24th, Huntingdon Male Voice Choir at Peterborough Cathedral on 17th and Jonathon Foyle’s Talk ‘A Glimpse of Heaven’ also at the Cathedral on 23rd.

Other highlights are The Soldiers' and Sailors' Rest Exhibition at Peterborough Museum running throughout the month into April, Cupids Wedding Show at the East of England Arena on 18th and for comedy lovers head down to see Griff Rhys Jones: Where Was I?, at The Cresset on 22nd.

February’s half-term provides plenty of fun things to keep the young ones busy with Railworld Wildlife Haven 2018 Open Day on Sunday 11th, Thomas Half Term Specials at Nene Valley Railway on 17th-18th, the Holiday Trail at Ferry Meadows is on the 10th – 18th plus a whole variety of fun events to choose from.

Further afield, enjoy strolling amongst the Snowdrops on some of the walks in the region, Deene Park on 18th & 25th and Easton Walled Gardens on the17th – 25th, also Peckover House have opened their gardens for winter on 17th-18th and enjoy one of their House Tours on 26th – 1st March.

The Hidden Heritage Tour is the essential guide to Peterborough’s past on the 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th runs from the museum every Saturday afternoon through January, plus the Priestgate Vaults tour will delight history lovers and run most days at 2.30pm.

Other highlights for January include the free *daily Guided Tours of Peterborough Cathedral at 11.30 and 2pm.
