Peterborough has events and festivals taking place all year and May is packed with 4 pages of things to do.

The main highlights for this month are the Modified Nationals at the Peterborough Arena on 26th – 28th, Classical Reflection: Album Launch on 13th and Strictly Cathedral with Louis Smith and Cassidy Little (war veteran) on 19th, both at Peterborough Cathedral. Peterborough Lido will open its doors on what would be their 81st Season Opening on 27th and the Burghley Game & Country Fair takes place on 28th.

If you fancy some outdoor events there is the Yaxley Festival on 12th – 14th, Viking Re-enactment in Central Park 14th, Discover Ferry Meadows on 20th – 21st and Sheep Shearing at Sacrewell also on 20th – 21st.

For those of you who prefer music and theatre there is plenty going on including Folk award winning ‘Kathryn Roberts and Sean Lakeman LIVE’ at Key Theatre on 11th, Met Opera Live in HD at Stamford Arts Centre on 13th and on 20th Around the World Concert by Peterborough Take Note Community Choir, The Voyager School.

There’s a lot going on for the children to enjoy during half term at Ferry Meadows Country Park including Half Term Trail and Pond Dipping on 27th, Big Hunt on 29th and Wild Wednesday’s on 31st. Other fun events are the Teddy Express at Nene Valley Railway on 27th – 29th, Lyveden Alive! at Lyveden New Bield on 29th – 2nd June and theatre fun with Horrible Histories - The Best of Barmy Britain at Key Theatre on 31st – 1st June.

Other highlights include the *daily free Guided Tours of Peterborough Cathedral at 11.30am and 2pm and Tuesdays till Two at St. John's Church, Cathedral Sq.
