Festive December!

The end of the year has come round again and this December is jam packed with things to do!

The main highlights for December are the Christmas Silent Disco on 7th, two performances of Christmas Magic with Peterborough’s Male Voice Choir and others on 15th and the Cathedral Christmas Concert on the 21st, all at Peterborough Cathedral. For a celebration of fine foods and produce head to Burghley’s Christmas Fine Food Market at Burghley House from 6th – 9th, and you’ll enjoy festivities galore at Bah Humbug Fest, the East of England Arena on 20th – 30th.

Theatre Lovers will be spoiled for choice with this month’s wide array of plays and pantos suitable for all the family! Beauty & the Beast will be performed by the Lamphouse Theatre group at the Stahl Theatre on 12th, Sacrewell on 22nd and The Undercroft on 24th. The Greatest SNOWman is Oundle’s very own professional pantomime presented at the Stahl Theatre on the 21st – 23rd

The timeless classic Peter Pan will be showing at the Key Theatre starting on the 6th through to 6th Jan and also Robin Hood will be performed at the Cresset Theatre showing on various days from the 9th to the 30th. The Burtey Fen (Organ) Collection 2018 will feature Kevin Grunill - The Christmas Show on 16th.

Other events to look out for are The National Festival of Railway Modelling at the East of England Arena on 8th -9th, Christmas Celebration at Peckover House and Gardens NT from 8th – 16th and the live screening of Anthony & Cleopatra at the Key Theatre on 6th and The Stamford Arts Centre on 20th.

Don’t forget to pop in to the Peterborough Visitor Information Centre where you'll find a Giving Tree. You can buy a gift for a child or contribute towards this worthy cause.

Other highlights for December include the free daily Guided Tours of Peterborough Cathedral at 11.30am and 2pm.

The Hidden Heritage Tour is the essential guide to Peterborough’s past on the 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd & 29th runs from the museum every Saturday afternoon through December, plus the Priestgate Vaults tour will delight history lovers and runs most days at 2.30pm.
